Luna Dragons are rarely seen on the ground, instead most commonly spotted flying at a great distance overhead. They nest in high peaks and rocky outcroppings too dangerous to access by climbing. Their venomous bite makes them a formidable predator. The venom causes paralysis and death, but in smaller amounts it can cause disturbing hallucinations and abnormal perceptions of the passage of time. They will bite an intended victim and then wait in the air above until the venom has taken effect and their prey can be easily carried back to the Luna Dragon’s nest. Little is known about their social and breeding habits, but they are thought to leave their eggs alone in caves in the desert for the offspring to fend for themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation.
