Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Kalazor was once the protector of the mighty Sanctuary Weyr, and his heroic deeds were legendary—vampire dragons and even zombie dragons were no match for him.  However, one day his weyr faced a challenge even he couldn't defeat—humans—and was forced to split up and relocate.  Unable to bear the dissolution of his weyr, Kalazor set off on his own, eventually arriving at Dragonhaven Island.  Kalazor quickly found himself growing restless with nobody to protect (Norivan and Flora being largely self-sufficient), so he decided (with Norivan's permission) to turn Dragonhaven Island into a haven for rescued eggs and hatchlings.

Kalazor is courageous and unhesitating in the protection of those he cares about—his heroic status is well-earned—but also rather rigid and unyielding in his opinions.  However, Flora can usually persuade him to change his mind, since he has the sense to recognize her good judgment and act on her advice.
