Blacktip Dragons are a small, shore-dwelling breed that tend to nest on sheer ocean side cliffs. They live in groups under a dominant female, who prevents her subordinates from breeding. During the mating season, a group of Blacktips can be very noisy and smelly indeed; males produce a distinctive musky odor and loud, low-pitched honking noises in an attempt to woo the alpha female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vicious and petty, this female is the matriarch of a rather large band of Blacktip dragons. Ruling her flock with iron claws, she's quick to set her loyal consorts on any lesser female who dares to speak out against her, dragging out the offender and publicly punishing them to weaken the resolve of other would-be rebels. A favorite cruelty of hers is rubbing fresh sea salt into the wounds of her victims, causing great deals of pain without doing much to endanger the lives of her pawns--a dead slave is of no use to her, after all. While many wonder why those living under her dark rule don't simply run away, the truth is often that they simply can't; vengeful to the last, the dragon has all those who try to escape her executed.
