Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Squire Fyre the Pink is an odd little dragon. In a fit of good humor, his owner adopted not only him, but another pink dragon as well, because of their codes, given to them by the Mighty Master of Everything (who gives every dragon a "code" at birth). The other dragon had the code Tazd. Squire Fyre's own code was uHOT, which his owner found to be very amusing.

Both Squire Fyre and the other dragon gendered male. The dragon with the code Tazd gendered first, and the owner allowed him to grow up. She froze Squire Fyre. (She later named the other dragon Sir Phent the Pink.)

Squire Fyre himself is a little bitter about never growing up; it means he will never get to be a knight like Sir Phent. However, that has not stopped him from training his hardest. Squire Fyre is a brave little dragon, whose dearest hope is to become a knight, even though he will never age.
