Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

CandycaneCourage was named by the clan. A striped egg was found in front of the cave suddenly one day on Christmas eve and no one could track down any parents. Once the hatchling emerged he was called upon by PowerfulClaw, the leader and oldest dragon in the clan. Names were called out and the name CandyCane seemed to fit the best. It was not until almost a whole year later that he earned the rest of his name. He is playful and very loving, so it is unnatural for him to hunt. He would rather play with the rabbit than hunt it! But, soon after his arrival the sky grew dark and winter came. Winter is usually very cheerful around the cave because it marks the beginning of a land of snow, but the prey suddenly hard to find and dragons were growing weak. He ventured out and found a lone rabbit, he thought of it's life... but then thought of his clan! Meat is brought in by him and PowerfulClaw changes his name, he is no longer CandyCane... he is CandycaneCourage!
