Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gekkigami is an elderly dragon, his scales dull and body holding many scars from past battles. However, he has retained his position of czar, similar as thousands of years ago. Although, he stays in his den since every movement he makes is stiff and painful. Blue Eyed White Shadow says his time is close to ending, and that he must choose a new czar to rule Koribeinki Fields. He spends most of his time curled up around a vampire egg he had found, dubbing it Korobeiniki and talking to it every so often. Some of his pack says when the egg hatches and grows up into a vampire dragon, it would become the new czar. Not many dragons are happy with that.

Now that the Vampire dragon had finally grown up, and took on the name of Korobeiniki's Blood, Gekkigami has retired as czar and passed it on to the young one. However, every day that passes makes Gekkigami doubtful in choosing him as czar.
