Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

In the desolate desert, wars are often fought over the scarce resources. When the time came for a large group of dragons to protect their territory, Sotoa was sent to the front lines. Being the only female guardian, Sotoa often feels lonely even amongst the crowded barracks. To deal with the terrible loneliness, she has taken to carving the horns of her vanquished enemies. In her room there are hundreds of small ivory figures arranged to mimic the layout of the camp. Every shriveled bush, sandy cave, and fellow soldier are carved from horn and are laid out, becoming the guardian's entertainment when the day is done. Sotoa has shown disturbing tendencies with her toys; dragons that have been nasty to her are smashed in their doll form. It is a scary thought, but Sotoa is interested in learning how to animate inanimate objects with magic. Though she gets lonely sometimes with just her playground, the little niggling voices in the back of Satoa's head keep her company.
