Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mercutio the Fabulous is fabulous. He can most often be seen strutting his stuff down the streets popular with young dragons these days, always ready to woo a young lady or three. However, Mercutio has a horrible secret; he loves wiggly jelly. Being the richest dragon in the city has its advantages, such as all of the wiggly jelly one could ever want. He is quite self-conscious about his love for wiggly jelly though and because of this he only meets Dum Dum to buy it early on Saturday mornings because everyone is still asleep following their Friday-night antics. He has been spending a lot of time with Dum Dum recently, and their wiggly-jelly-business meetings often end with large amounts of wiggly jelly being consumed. Luckily for Mercutio though, he has a very high metabolism. He has grown quite fond of Dum Dum, but he has gotten used to the life of a famous ladiesdragon and is afraid of leaving it behind to be with Dum Dum.
