Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Akcaw ('A-core') was the first egg that the egg thief ImmyWimmy1 stole from the dragon cave... and kept for her own. The young egg thief had timed the hatching of the egg wrong and ended up with a little black hatchling to deal with! She named her Akcaw and decided to raise her as a pet dragon. The little hatchling grew up fierce and strong, admired by the other villagers and her mistress ImmyWimmy1. Years passed and the young dragon grew into a fine young she-dragon. ImmyWimmy1 felt it was cruel to keep a magnificent dragon in town, and so released her into the wild. But against the belief of the young egg thief and many of the villagers, the young dragon returned to the young egg thief. The strong bond that they shared inspired ImmyWimmy1 and the young dragon to start a home for orphaned dragon eggs, rather than steal them! Akcaw is currently a fierce guardian over all the new egg arrivals and will protect them at all costs.
