Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s chubby and pink with a faint rose-like smell.

And look! It has grown wings and the flower is blooming! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A giddy and affectionate little creature, this female loves few things more than weddings, and absolutely NOTHING more than to be a flower girl at said weddings! Gathering up massive amounts of roses in her teeth, she will scamper happily up and down the aisle shaking the bouquet vigorously, creating a lovely trail of petals upon which the lucky couple can walk. Having a Valentine dragon attending one's wedding is considered a most potent sign of good luck, and as such, the cheerful hatchling gets to participate in quite a lot of them.
