It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lady Megatron was one of the first dragons to make her home in Kitsune's cave.  Her presence has often been attributed to the cave's general atmosphere of good fortune and peace.  She is often seen traveling with Kitsune and is quite adept at finding new eggs or odd trinkets.  It was, in fact, Lady Megatron that found and uprooted the leetle tree that resides at the mouth of the cave.  She had tromped through the snow one holiday season and after several hours rushed back to the cave, the small pine cradled in her mouth like a favorite toy. Lady is also an amazing caretaker: she has never let an egg or hatchling die.  The only casualties in the cave are caused by the resident Vampires, whom she has little tolerance for.
