Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Tori found this egg after it fell from the sky. From the dragons flying overhead she assumed that they were moving nesting places and dropped the egg. The mother flew down struggling to carry three other eggs. After setting her other eggs down she looked at Tori and rolled the egg to her with a smiling gleam to her eyes. Tori accepted the egg and raised it. Summerwing flies out often to visit his true dragon family but permanently rests with Tori and her dragons.
