Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There was once a sad young wizardess who had no Gold dragons. She wished every night upon the stars that she would somehow acquire a Gold. She was willing to do anything that didn't harm her own dragons to get any Gold: she only wanted one to love and teach, because her heart was with Gold dragons: they were the kind she was meant for.

Then one night, a kind young wizard met her and agreed to give her his own Gold egg. They had to meet in secret, as Golds were often stolen when being transferred. For days they tried to find a time. Then, one cold night, they suddenly met as the wizardess was about to leave for home. The timing was perfect: had the wizard arrived a minute later the wizardess would have been gone. The Stars Aligned that night, and the wizardess brought them home.
