Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

DreamAzure is a Daydream dragon and has an extremely disorienting effect on nearby people. While he himself is rather aloof and a loner by nature, he appreciates the company of his family- once in a while. Unfortunately, being near him too long causes people to fall into a stupor from which they can only be awakened if they are dragged away (or splashed with cold water) or to babble nonsense, the latter being frequent in the case of his owner. While sympathetic towards them, DreamAzure does get some amusement out of watching their reactions. Only four dragons are immune to his hypnotic presence- Fierozasion the Magi and his son and daughter Kierozesian and Amarinesion and PeaceFlight the White. At night, DreamAzure often floats around the cave, placing dreams (or nightmares) into his sleeping family's minds.
