Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Darkest of Fantasies is a rather scabby-scaled and unattractive dragon with wings that were so misshapen at her hatching ceremony that she was disowned by her family and left to die in a cave on the outskirts of their territory. But, despite her inability to fly like the other dragons of her kind, she was born a survivor; flipping the rocks within the cave and slurping up the delicious insects beneath gave her the sustenance she needed to evade death.

Due to her unfortunate hatchling-hood, she is smaller and weaker than the rest of her kin, not to mention flightless. But she more than makes up for her disabilities with her magical ability, which she has fine-tuned and perfected thanks to a kindly Magi dragon that took pity on her.
