Found along the coast and in nests high above the ground, Mistra Dragons are respected for their gentle nature. They are known to adopt any abandoned eggs or hatchlings that they find and raise them as their own, singing softly to lull their young into a deep sleep. As a result of their close relationships with their families, Mistra Dragons tend to live in large, close groups. They use their large numbers to their advantage for many things, including putting on shows (of sorts) and frightening predators away from their nests.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

From the moment she hatched, Amistra was always a little troublemaker. Her parents wondered if she had a mental disorder, as neither they nor anyone they knew had heard of such a zany, trouble-making mistra. They need not have worried. Amistra developed the adoptive nature of her kind when her wings grew in, and she adopted some dragons just as hyper as she—she adopted an entire circus! At least, she tried. She ended up joining a smaller group who were tired of the main circus's rules and wanted to experiment more. Now, Amistra is the financial manager for the Unadulterated Comedians, a troupe led by Gravely Unadulterated and BUftB. Her job entails paying the actors, managing ticket prices, and purchasing props, tents, seating, etc. Also, she works with BUftB on cost-risk analyses for hiring new staff and arranging transport. She loves all the troupe members like her children and cries whenever someone is let go, even if they were acting criminally and deserved to be thrown out.
