Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While trying to find another dragon egg to claim as her own, dragon raiser Olympe was trudging through the desert. Suddenly, she saw a golden egg, and sprinted towards it. As a matter of fact, it was obvious that she was going to be the first to reach it, but then, the unexpected happened: all of a sudden, a red dragon's egg that was sitting behind the gold literally jumped not only in front of the gold, but also into Olympe's open hands.

Too shocked to do anything but stare at the miracle egg in her hands, Olympe decided to keep it, as the gold egg was long gone anyway. This is how Faster Than a Speeding Gold joined her dragon clan, Clan Olympus. And, despite the high cost of acquiring her, Speedy, as the red dragon is often called, is well loved by her human surrogate mother and the other dragons of her clan.
