Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. He was wandering amidst the ruins looking at the ancient writings. He was strange for any kind of dragon because he was an archaeologist and loved to look at the symbols in ruins and the paintings on cave walls and try to decipher their meanings. He sat there with his mate and assistant sapphire as she mumbled in some language he barely could speak as she read the words on the wall and she smiled and whispered to him, "This is the secret we have been looking for all along."
