When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nagia of the Sea could never live confined in a lake. No lake is large enough to keep her interested for more than a few months; Nagia wants to see the wonders of the underwater world. She is a master of diving, reaching depths where the pressures would crush the air out of the lungs of any other air breather. To see she uses a simple light spell, and an alien world full of mystery and adventure unfolds before her glossy eyes. She has seen events and creatures that other intelligent beings can only imagine. When she meets with those on land, she tells them tales of her journeys. She is rarely believed, since her tales are often so fantastic they seem to defy logic, but none can really prove her wrong, for no one else can reach to the depths of her realm and see for themselves.
