Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wise and earnest, Verbum Dei is a well-respected elder dragon. He has been known for giving young hatchlings riddles to solve. He owns a vast variety of wooden "logic" games and tends to lend them to them in order to help them enhance their mental abilities. He strongly believes that hatchlings should be taught how to read since he hates associating dragons with animals. He personally prefers human company since they tend to be far more sophisticated than draconians in the majority of times. His favourite resting spot is the library where he can be seen either crafting "logic toys" or trying to solve new ones, if he is lucky enough and Flitz finds some during her journeys. If not occupied he loves having long conversations with the Chronic Guardian dragons, since they are far more knowledgeable than the rest in the group.
