Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Quiet and shy upon the first glance, Mystica Aeri is a dragon who loves philosophy, music, literature, the arts, and the mystical almost as much as she loves the sky. Her evenings are usually spent with Silver4Espeon in the library of the dragon manor, reading and studying, and after her owner goes to bed, she takes off into the night sky like any Nebula dragon. Unlike most dragons of her kind, however, she bases the patterns on her body not only on nebulas but some abstract paintings as well, with mixed results. Mystica Aeri, as her name implies, also holds a fascination for the mystical, such as horoscopes and alchemy. These diversions take up much of her attention, so she often does not notice Valiant Spark's affections for her. In fact, she has few friends, though Silver4Espeon is trying to get her to come out of her shell and be more social.
