Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Shimmerflight xx's magical strength, while somewhat violent, is most often controlled next to Rainbow Sky xx, who is able to calm down Shimmerflight xx when he is angry. Rainbow Sky xx is mostly found in the desert with Shimmerflight xx where they grew up, and she loves to spend her time bathing in sunlight while Shimmerflight xx goes off to hunt.
