Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Joy was a very strange dragon indeed. Born a Christmas dragon to an autumn father, her excessive love for the holiday of her birth was balanced (err, perhaps that's not the right word...) only by her equally great enthusiasm for fall! Thus does she spend from mid September to the very end of December hopping about like a giddy kitten, proclaiming her undying love for red leaves and presents and pumpkins and eggnog and and and--

If anyone can get her to stop rambling for a minute (which is no easy task!), she will reveal there's another thing she's proud of, beyond just being connected to two such marvelous times of the year. Rather than just being the child of an autumn dragon and a snow angel, she's the result of four generations of such romances, which she and her friends find very cool indeed!
