Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Searing Spiral is the Alpha Male of the Hellfire Wyvern dragons in his cave.

He is suspicious and cunning, one who cares much for making a secure place for himself and his young, but not much else. He generally keeps to himself, but is known to act as an escort for his mate, Hell's Bluebell, when she desires his presence. He is not known well by many dragons.

During his mate's expeditions in hunting and killing, he tends to stay and guard their hatchlings, mostly keeping them in his own nest and away from other hatchlings due to his paranoia. He teaches them hunting and fighting maneuvers, which pleases their mother greatly.

When Hell's Bluebell chose him as a mate, he saw it as an excellent opportunity. Her dominance and beautifully radiant fire was definitely a plus for his quest of security in place and rank in the cave. The slight drawback is that he is forever prohibited from having any friends who are female. Not like he's really one to have friends in the first place, though.
