Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hides in dark spaces and lunges at anything that gets too close. Small piles of bones are accumulating outside of its “lairs”...

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Bone-Piler is fond of lurking in dark spaces for hours on end until every dragon forgets where he is. It is then that he makes his move, jumping out at the first unsuspecting dragon to pass close enough to his hiding place. This is a very effective strategy; not surprisingly, most of the dragons in his clan are wary of him. They aren't scared, though. Bone-Piler is too tiny to do any real damage. He is also fond of bones. He piles them outside of his den, uses them as warnings by placing them in the dens of the dragons he plans to scare soon, and tosses them, using them as toys. Even his nest is made of bones. Many times, other dragons have commented that his nest looks uncomfortable, but he just says, "Try it. Bones are surprisingly soft." None ever have.
