Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gem lives deep under the Main Island in a massive cavern system. She is the only dragon that knows of the cavern's existence. She leaves the caves once a month to hunt at night. Because she has lived most of her life underground, she is very sensitive to light. She has developed very good night vision over the years. In addition to her excellent night vision, she discovered a rare stone that glows brightly in the dark of the caves. She uses the stones, which she has named Sun Stones, like a candle to help find her way in the caves. She has also gathered a large amount of gems she found in the caverns and keeps them in her most frequented caves. They reflect the light from the Sun Stones making the caves much brighter causing them to be about as bright as a night during a full moon.
