Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This lone male is better known for the storms he brings than for his own appearance. His arrival is forewarned by the approach of thick clouds, and the menacing rumble of thunder in the distance. Those of the world below who believe it to be nothing but an ordinary storm soon learn otherwise, as the squall will last for days on end, setting rivers to flood and striking houses aflame, all under the cover of a most thick and terrible darkness. Only occasional bursts of lightning break through that longest night, and when they do they illuminate nothing but horror: this dragon diving down on massive wings, taking his fill of prey amidst the chaos and confusion.
