And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Power is fierce and competitive with an inextinguishable desire to prove herself. She can be rough on some of the physically weaker hatchlings, but her tamer or Maeyella is usually there to help settle an altercation before it gets ugly. Power can be insecure about her small size, so her tamer thinks that is the reason for her somewhat brash and brazen attitude. She loves to fly and often doesn't know her own limits, so she can't be outside the cave without supervision.
