Kingcrownes are a mysterious and proud species, possessing some of the most beautiful and reflective scales of all dragons. Despite this, what is sought after most is not their scales, but the silk-like hairs that grow along their head, neck, and elbows. The hairs themselves have a magical shine, and are thought to have powerful healing properties when used in potions. The hairs of a Kingcrowne are even believed to bring good fortune to those who possess them. Though it is obvious that these dragons possess magical abilities, it is still not entirely clear what they are fully capable of. Most of a Kingcrowne’s time is spent grooming itself, keeping its scales and fur in top condition.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Queenie Crowne is a nefarious, conniving dragoness with a thirst for power and a hunger for control. She was raised by her scroll keeper and was compliant with them in her youth, but as soon as she reached adulthood she disappeared. Later on she began to make short reappearances as other dragons disappeared, and it wasn't long before her scroll keeper found out why -- she was stealing away dragonets! Not far from where her scroll keeper lived, Queenie was creating her own court where she gathered the dragons she had taken and filled their heads with dreams of grandeur -- all of which left her in charge. Now she plans a full-on revolt against the human race, stealing more and more dragons to serve under her twisted rule as her court.
