On sunny days when the sea is clear and sparkling, coastal villages are often treated to a spectacular sight. While normally shy, Tideweaver Lindwyrms are emboldened by fair weather, and when one starts to dance, the rest soon follow. However, their intricate fins and complex dances are more than just a dazzling show. Tideweavers rely on slight changes in their movements and fin positions to communicate with others of their kind. This communication is key; the lindwyrms are almost always found traveling within tightly bonded family groups. To show affection, they have been known to gently hold one another with their small front legs.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Garish was not always so...garish. While she was raised above the castle she was a shy and quiet hatchling. Not many of the hatchlings spoke to her, being scolded if they did so it would "prepare" her for life underneath the castle. However, she felt as though it was because she looked funny; her image in the water was always rippling, distorting her actually beautiful image whenever she looked at it. She grew up believing she was ugly. However, when she was finally brought down to the lake underneath the stony castle, things quickly changed. She was introduced to another Red-Finned Tidal named Quarz. She instantly felt at ease in front of him, having been told that he was completely blind. The two quickly became inseparable and, through Quarz's kind words and constant reassurance, Garish become exactly as her name says.
