Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Since long time ago, there has been an old tale, telling about a monster living in Kanon Island. It is said that the vile creature eats human flesh, kills animals for fun and lives inside a volcano. His growl shakes the whole island, freely showing his wrath. That monster is extremely powerful, having the scary ability to summon magma in order to wipe out human villages.

However, history has been proven to be twisted and not always true. Defteros lives indeed within the volcano of Kanon Island and has the power to control magma within a certain degree. Yet he does not use that ability to destroy villages, but to protect them. Using his body, he shields those places and prevents the magma from nearing.

Despite the cruel rumours, he continues protecting humans from the shadow. The reason for his heroic actions is unknown, but it is said that he was saved once when he was still a hatchling. In order to show his gratitude to his unknown saviour, he always saves and protects others.
