Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

During Caelesti's time at the Academy of Magick, the subject she studied most intensely was horology, the keeping of the hours. As she grew in magic, the day she looked forward to was the day of her final examination before the Mages' Court that would determine her duties within Magi society.

By happenstance, her examination fell on the last day of both calendars, a day called "Leap Day" that was marked by celebration. Caelesti knew that the alignment of the two calendars had magical significance as well, but the day proceeded like any other day until the end of her test, when the mages' Solemn Pronouncement ripped through the atrium like lightning, illuminating the landscape for miles with a wellspring of near-infinite magic that bound itself to her. Caelesti was forever marked by this unprecedented Pronouncement and has vowed to use her incredible power for the furthering of dragonkind. She now sits in a place of honor in the Mages' Court and teaches young mages at the Academy.
