It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

A purple dragon she was this Da Mien, with a secret only her clutch Caretaker knew of and she was assured by the goodliness of his soul that it would remain between the two of them. She yawned as she oft did, for she was bored and entertained herself by making the Caretaker think she'd eat the white egg he'd taken in.

Other times she'd find a great old tree, lay across its thick canopy and watch her clutch mates, Vapid and Ch'lar. One chasing the other who wanted to be a human. It was unheard of, but not unthinkable. It made her wish that she had a choice in the matter but a spell upon her there was, and no dragon thought it curious that all purple dragons were female...

She chewed on a leafy branch thought of how beautiful her scales—smoother than most—were in the rising sunlight and considered going to the ocean to look at her reflection in the noonday sun.
