Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This eternally young Balloon hatchling never stops bouncing. She latches herself to any friendly adult dragon in the Dusk Divide Keep and bounces along after them with her voluminous belly and strong legs. Her chaperones always find it companionable despite the fact that she cannot use telepathy, and it is named after the only sound she is capable of producing, a surprisingly loud drubbing she makes by pounding her front paws onto her belly whenever she's pleased—or hungry.
