Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For as long as any dragon can remember, this dragon has been dwelling in the forests and groves around the clan's territory. His frequent journeys through mud and muck (and too few baths) have dulled his bronze scales, giving him the name of Radagast the Brown. Though eccentric, Radagast loves all beings, but he does not usually concern himself with the doings of his fellow dragons. From birds to deer to hedgehogs, any and all creatures are welcome in his den, though he is especially fond of rabbits. He is well practiced in various forms of advanced magic, and spends his days tending to and healing the forest creatures that he loves. Because of this he is often sought out by inquisitive magic users of all races, though they are normally surprised to discover that a dirty old Shimmerscale with bird droppings in his mane is the legendary Radagast the Brown. He turns any inquirers away, however, as Radagast only reveals his secrets to the trees that he talks to on his daily walks.
