Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Titania is the first of her kind in the Clan. She is very much an enigma to the other dragons, all of whom had never before seen such a beautiful, gleaming egg before hers arrived near Spiralka's lair. Spiralka raised the beautiful egg as she would one of her own children. Titania is good-natured but shy and at times aloof. She is uncomfortable around small hatchlings, but very friendly and respectful to her elders. She is especially fond of all of the pygmy dragons, whom she insists are the most intelligent of all the species and who keep her head and tail bedecked with vines and berries.
