Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Akul is the kitchen master (the kitchen prepares meals for the more human servants of the Dragonreaper—all the dragons hunt for themselves or their mates). Able to cool off when the kitchen gets too hot, Akul manages the preparation and baking of foods, although he does not participate in any of it directly, as despite his interest in the culinary arts and his constant plaguing Veblos for different recipes, no dragon was made for cooking. His fascination is lies in the trillions of ways sentient bipeds invent to prepare their foods, whereas most dragons just hunt and eat.
Akul, were he human or able to have a human avatar, would probably be the greatest chef intellectually, and therefore he serves as an excellent foreseer even if his presence in the kitchen is crowded and awkward.
