Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Brisingr Anglat Skulblaka is the dominant female of the cave. She is also the dominant dragon in the cave meaning that she has power over the other dragons in the cave. The reason for this is because she was the first adult in the cave and is very independent. She also is very stubborn and stuck-up with a bad attitude. So no other dragon decides to bother her, instead they leave her to go about her business. Her name means "Fire Shadow Dragon", but in the Ancient Language, the language in which her name comes from, it is pronounced as "Shadow Fire Dragon". The purpose of her name is because when she breathes fire, her fire is made from the shadows in which making it "shadow fire". This gives her an advantage in battle because whenever she uses her "shadow fire", it causes the other dragons to flinch because they have never faced a dragon which breathes "shadow fire".
