As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

News spread through the Clans like wildfire. A large Clan of Night Glory Drakes were giving away all of their eggs. There was no end in the talk, which led Sonnoh to want one all the more. He sent a small party to claim one. Guardian Tail and Rhiannon were appalled by the status of the Night Drake Clan. Hundreds upon hundreds of dragons were there; all crowding to get an egg. They didn't seem at all concerned by the sad state of the cave's Drakes. They were both thin and sickly. It was clear why the Night Glory Clan were giving away all of their eggs. The unfortunate Drakes wouldn't last another month. Because of the hundreds of greedy dragons surrounding the nests, it took three days for the two Valley dragons to get ahold of an egg. Orrabis knows nothing of his family's fate. True to his breed, he is shy and rarely talks to the others. He had always loved Lorelesia, but when she chose Sorrin over him, he realized that they would always only be friends.
