Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rakallia was an unwanted hatchling. She grew up with one person as an egg, hatched and was abandoned, then grew up with another owner until she had wings, when she was noticed by Natasha, her owner now, and was snatched quickly. Natasha actually intended this dragon to be a gift to a friend who was having bad luck getting female Blacks for his breeding program, but Rakallia grew up too fast, and became loyal to Natasha only. Because of this, there is stress in the relationship between rider and dragon. Even so, Natasha has decided to have a special relationship with each of her dragons, whether five or five hundred. And she would NEVER leave a dragon unnamed. Rakallia will always be special to her.
