Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Moonlight is Fire in the Soul's mate. He is a very feminine in structure, which he is often teased about. Although being called a female is mildly annoying, Moonlight accepts that he looks female and ignores comments made by others. He often is seen flying over the nearby village, and is known as "The Shadow Master" by the inhabitants. Many legends have been based on him, and some believe it is good fortune to meet him. All the legends are not true in the slightest, but Moonlight enjoys the publicity it gives him. It also means that many travel to the village just to catch a glimpse of him. Moonlight has never interacted with the villagers as he is a shy dragon.
