Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Syvli's ambition always outmatched his talent, but he claimed he had a project underway that would convince everyone of his true genius. Nobody expected much, if anything, given his track record (his final project, a spell for making pictures come to life, blew a hole in the Goldenmage Assembly), but Syvli insisted that even the most skeptical would be convinced by what he had in store—a device for portraying past events. The day he demonstrated his device, both he and it vanished in a puff of smoke, to the surprise of nobody. When Syvli reappeared later that afternoon, looking centuries older, he refused to talk about what had happened, but given the appearance throughout historical records of a magi dragon matching Syvli's description, it's possible that for once he had a spell work too well.
