Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

"All your base are belong to mine" was a nickname that stuck. She always went and invaded the other young hatchlings' play areas and claimed the territory for herself. If she went unopposed, for she was older and stronger than most other hatchlings, her territory would have almost taken over all the space for the young dragons! However, the scroll owner realized the problems and promptly froze her. She was left with all the other frozen black hatchlings in the care of the many adults. Though her temper sometimes flares due to her resentment of being frozen, she is able to get along without the urge of taking over. However, sometimes another hatchling would make a wry remark about her history.
