Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t move much, and appears to be covered in stone.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. However, the wings look too heavy to fly and are filled with beautiful crystal.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Little Crystal Blue is a polite little Geode hatchling. Unlike the majority of the other Eternal Hatchlings, it is known why she was frozen. Her parents, two clan earth dragons, saw Crystalized Blue, and Beryl Blue's grief at having no hatchlings of their own. Despite being solitary, the two dragons longed for a geode hatchling of their own. Being kind, the two earth dragons gave the two mateless females their egg, and, once hatched, froze the hatchling so that the two would never be alone again. Despite being an Eternal Geode Hatchling, Little Crystal Blue prefers to sit quietly, rather then playing with the others. Because of that, she is often found sitting next to either of the two clan Geodes, or sitting quietly in the Eternal Hatchling nest resembling a statue.
