Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One of Kelsoa's cardinal rules was to never let any visitor stay more than one night, but she found her resolve tested when a resident water dragon's brief affair with a passing magi dragon resulted in an egg ill-suited for a watery environment.  Reluctant to let the egg die, Kelsoa decided to raise it instead as her own child.  Though kind, she was ill-equipped for motherhood, which led to a rather sad and lonely childhood for young Noorsa.  Surrounded by Kelsoa's magical artwork and desperate for her mother's approval, Noorsa sought to develop her own magical talent, but never received anything more than perfunctory praise for her efforts.  When old enough, Noorsa left Kelsoa's castle with barely a twinge of regret, even though she knew she'd never be able to return, and eventually found a place at the Goldenmage Assembly.  Though a powerful magic-user, Noorsa remains convinced of her own inferiority, as she insists in using Kelsoa as her sole basis for comparison.
