When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sizhu lives in a nearly bottomless lake amidst the caldera of an extinct volcano.  He is kind, but perhaps a little vain.  His high opinion of himself may be a bit off putting to some other dragons, and for the longest time he was just a little bit lonely.  This made him a little bit more needy, and he tried to seem even more handsome than before.  So all the other dragons thought he was arrogant and conceited, and he became even lonelier.

Then Haiak Valvojana, a Skywing whose egg was damaged, so that she can't fly with much grace, crashed into his lake.   He swam over to her, planning to drag her to safety, but she swam as though she was born to the water.   The two of them soon became fast friends, and Sizhu hasn't been lonely for a long time.
