Floret Wyverns are an elegant breed, named for the flowerlike mane and tail each individual possesses. They project small fields of magic around themselves that calm those in the field’s proximity, for a short while replacing anxiety and anger with peace-of-mind. Florets are strikingly wise; they often share their knowledge of the world with whomever is willing to listen and learn. They are very faithful to those close to them, and are especially devoted to their partners and young. It is said that the lasting friendship of a Floret is one of the highest testaments to one’s true character.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Floralspeak's name was inspired by his flowery tongue, and he has quite the reputation in his Floret Clan for his way of making even the most mundane observation sound poetic, overwrought. They tease but he knows that his Clanmates appreciate his demeanor, if only for the sense of playful drama it allows them to indulge.

Recently his lyricism has gotten him elected to lead the integration effort of the newer shades of Floret who have arrived in the Weyr of Soft Flowers, their peachy-rose feathers a pleasant contrast to the golds and violets of their cousins. The new Florets are just the slightest bit different from those who have long lived in the peaceful coastal Weyr, and some buzz that there might be yet other new cousins who might come to the shores of Soft Flowers soon.

In any case, Floralspeak is trying to ensure that all the new cousins of his Clan have space to have their own dominions and comforts, their own resources. At least his florid speaking seems to entertain them, too.
