Sweetlings are a small, flightless breed of dragon. They are omnivores who favor sweet fruits and honey, and have been known to go to great lengths to obtain their favorite treats. Their long, prehensile tails allow them to grab onto branches and give them superior balance. Sweetlings are expressive dragons and have a large array of calls to communicate with others. They become very vocal during breeding season and sing long, beautiful melodies to attract a mate. Inquisitive in nature, Sweetlings are known to investigate anything that piques their interest, and are quick to flee if the object of their curiosity strikes back.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dameon is a Sweetling dragon. He has taken the younger Rosebud twin, Irene, for his mate. Dameon has a large and caring heart, and always tries to cheer up dragons when they are feeling down. That is how he first noticed Irene. He felt her jealousy of her older sister, Katrina. Poor Irene just was not getting the attention she needed. By befriending her and spending time with her, Irene truly blossomed, literally. Her petals and ribbons grew more swiftly than Katrina's which made her very happy. As he got closer to Irene, her noticed that they had many of the same interests. They are now very loyal to each other. Dameon and Irene often stroll about the meadows outside of Aspen Town, which is near to the mountains where they live. Aspen Town is dragon-friendly and petitioned to have dragons re-introduced to the area. A favorite place for holiday dragons, as Dearest Wish decorates there, The villagers are always happy to see Dameon and Irene strolling about the fields.
