White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lucasta has always been a nostalgic dragoness. She greatly admires her mother's glistening scales, and has always secretly felt less attractive next to her, even though she is considered one of the most beautiful White dragons in the cave. She often dreams of being a Ribbondancer like her mother, believing this will make her just as beautiful. Despite feeling inadequate next her, she loves her mother very much, and the two share a close bond as mother and daughter. As a hatchling, she forged an unlikely friendship with the young Black dragonness, Nova, and often seeks her out for advice. The two have always shared their problems with one another, and Nova constantly reminds Lucasta of her prestigious Holiday lineage to make her feel more confident. Lucasta comes from two Latin words that mean 'pure light'.
