Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The wind was chilly and crisp as two figures sat beside each other on a lonely mountaintop, looking at the clear, bright moon. There were no clouds in the sky that night, and the stars shined bright, occasionally twinkling. The moonstone and royal blue were perfectly content to sit and stare at the sky, the only dragons around for miles.

"Look," the moonstone dragon said, and the royal blue nodded. Turning to the part of the sky the moonstone had pointed at, both of them watched as shooting stars began to soar across the sky, blanketing the murky black expanse with streaks of light. The two dragons had traveled to the top of the mountain just to see the rare event, and as the stars finally stopped falling, they both smiled and flew away from the chilly mountaintop.
